CQC Registration Myth-Busting

Fact: While the CQC suggests that registration can take a few months, in reality, due to ongoing backlogs, the process currently takes between 6 to 10 months. This includes internal CQC delays and waiting times for interviews. Planning ahead and starting early is essential.

Fact: No, you don’t need staff in place before registration. In fact, we recommend holding off on recruitment until after your application passes Stage 1 and is assigned to a CQC registration inspector—usually within 10 weeks. Fact: You’re only required to have registration-specific policies to pass the CQC interview. While having a full set of operational policies is useful for service delivery, it’s not a mandatory requirement at this stage. We help you prioritise what’s essential for registration
