What to expect from CQC’s new provider compliance assessment
While the CQC’s expectations of care are not changing, there are some key shifts in how they will assess providers:

Is there still a CQC provider compliance assessment tool?
When the 2010 essential standards were in force, CQC gave providers a self-assessment tool, the provider compliance assessment (PCA), to check their own services against those standards. The essential standards were later replaced by the fundamental standards in the Regulated Activities Regulations 2014, and the PCA went with them. Today the closest thing to a CQC provider compliance assessment is checking your own evidence against the quality statements in CQC’s assessment framework, which is what a remote mock inspection does for you.
