Common misconceptions we hear from new providers — and what the reality actually looks like in 2026:

Reality: Typical end-to-end registration runs 4-6 months from start to approval. Some complex services take 8-12 months. The new February 2026 reject-on-receipt rule means a single error sends you to the back of the queue — getting it right first time is now the only realistic path.

Reality: You only need to evidence your staffing model and recruitment processes, not employ full teams up front. Hiring everyone before approval is costly and unnecessary. We help you scope and evidence the right staffing structure for your service.

Reality: You need a robust, service-specific governance suite that demonstrates operational capability. Policies should be ready and detailed enough to evidence how your service will operate — but the interview tests your understanding of them, not just their existence.

The first 20 days are documentation preparation; the next 10 days for application submission; the remainder is CQC’s own assessment time including the Registered Manager interview. Under the February 2026 rules, any rejection means starting again from scratch — so getting it right first time is now critical.

If your application is rejected at any stage after we’ve delivered the full package, we’ll handle the resubmission at no additional cost. Up to 3 resubmissions are covered, subject to terms and conditions. The guarantee applies when you’ve followed our process and the rejection isn’t due to factors outside our control (e.g. financial viability concerns we flagged at scoping).
