Your registration pathway

1. Onboarding and requirements gathering. We collect your service details (provider entity, responsible individual, registered manager, home and location) and give you a simple checklist of the items only you can obtain — enhanced DBS checks through Ofsted, GP health declarations, manager’s Level 5 qualification evidence, property lease or ownership, planning position, insurance, financial evidence.
2. Stage 1 delivery — your application pack. We prepare your full document set aligned to the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards, and complete your Ofsted SC1 application with you — in as little as 3–5 working days once requirements are met.
3. Submission. We check everything and support your provider, responsible individual and registered manager applications through the Ofsted portal.
4. Stage 2 delivery — assessment and interview support. Additional documents Ofsted may request, fit-person interview question-and-answer packs for the manager and responsible individual, a 2-hour mock interview with written feedback, follow-up with Ofsted on your behalf, and appeal support if your application is challenged.
5. Registration decision. You receive your certificate of registration and can accept placements.

• Full children’s home policy suite mapped to the Quality Standards — safeguarding and child protection, behaviour support and restraint, missing from care, complaints, health and wellbeing, education, staffing and supervision, and more
• Workforce and staffing plan
• SC1 application and registered manager / responsible individual application forms — completed with you

Stage 2 — assessment, interview and follow-up

• Additional documents Ofsted may request while assessing your application
• Fit-person interview question-and-answer preparation packs
• 2-hour mock interview with written feedback
• Follow-up with Ofsted on your behalf until a decision is made
• Appeal support if your application is challenged

Timescales and payment

Your Stage 1 document pack is delivered in as little as 3–5 working days once your requirements are met. Ofsted’s own assessment timescales are set by Ofsted and are outside our control.

You can pay in two stages: 50% to begin (Stage 1 document pack) and 50% at submission stage, which covers your Stage 2 documents, interview preparation, mock interview and Ofsted follow-up.

What we need from you

Some items can only come from you, and your application cannot progress until they are ready. These are your responsibility and outside our control: enhanced DBS checks through Ofsted, GP health declarations, qualification certificates, property lease or ownership evidence and planning position, insurance quotes or certificates, ICO registration, and financial or bank evidence. We give you a checklist for all of these on day one and guide you through each step.
